Brickin’ It 2024
Brickin’ It returned for the third time on the 7th of September at the Arthurlie Scout Hall in Barrhead raising funds for the 1st Barrhead Scout Group. Everyone had a great day and in total £1137.59 was raised for the Scouts. Congratulations to Vicki Harris for organising a great.
At the show Tartan event LUG’s own Pip the Piper was invested into the Scouts by Kaa from Barrhead. Congratulations Pip!
Brick O’ Deen 2024
Brick O’ Deen is back at Fountainhall at the Cross in Aberdeen for the second time in 2024 after 2023’s weather delay. From Alison Clayton:
“Brick o’ Deen has been running since 2019 (there wasn’t one in 2020 and 2021 funnily enough!) and is based at Fountainhall at the Cross (formally Queens Cross Church) Tartan LUG builders from around Scotland come together to put on a show in a nice bright venue for the inhabitants of Aberdeen. It is a nice addition to the local schools October holidays and donates all profits to two local charities, Instant Neighbour and Aberdeen Cyrenians. This year we will have a range of different Lego themes and builds on display from castles and city layouts to sports cars and large scale brick-brick built models. A pop up shop, tombola and build pits will also be there to allow Lego fans to get building themselves. The show runs from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 12th of October, and entry costs £4 for those over 5.”
Skaerbaek Fan Weekend 2024
A few LUG members are heading to Denmark for the Skaerbaek fan weekend on the 28th and 29th of September where they will be displaying MOCs, meeting AFOLs from around the world and hopefully picking up some cool LEGO goodies.
